Did God Create Evil?

No, evil is the absence of God. 

The university professor said, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are then God is evil". The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that faith was a myth.

If God did not create evil, from where did evil come?

Evil is derived from the corruption of Good. All cultures provide some conception of the origin of evil, many of which are remarkably similar. Ancient Egyptian stories tell of a golden age which was lost by the "ancestress of woman" and of a serpent. In ancient Greek literature Pandora‘s curiosity led her to release evil into the world.
